LIVING IN VAUGHAN
Vaughan is a fast growing city in York Region located just north of Toronto. Part of the GTA, Vaughan was actually the fastest growing community in Canada between the years of 1996–2006.
Vaughan covers a very large area, blanketing the north end of Toronto and is bounded by Brampton and Caledon to the west, King and Richmond Hill on the north, Markham and Richmond Hill to the east and of course Toronto to the south.
Vaughan is made up of six distinct communities that include: Woodbridge / Vaughan Metropolitan Centre / Maple / Thornhill / Concord and Kleinburg.
Canada's Wonderland draws many visitors to the area every year who not only frequent the park, but visit the many shops and restaurants in the area too. For those who love to shop, Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre, which hosts a mass collection of designer outlet stores is the destination of choice!
York University, with more than 43,0000 students, sits just on the Toronto-Vaughan border. The York Region District School Board and the York Catholic District School Board operate many high schools and elementary schools in Vaughan. Private schools include the Anne & Max Tanenbaum Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto the Toronto Waldorf School, which offers early childhood, elementary and accredited high school programs.
